Our Approach

Local Narcissist aims to make its website accessible and usable for as many people as possible. We want customers to browse products, use the menu, view product pages, register interest, join waitlists, use saved items, access the cart, contact us, and read policy pages with a clear and functional experience.

Current Status

This website is partially compliant with WCAG 2.2 AA. We are continuing to test, improve, and refine the website as new pages, media, ecommerce features, interest functions, waitlist functions, and product interactions are added.

Design And Readability

The website uses a restrained visual design with serif typography, neutral backgrounds, subtle borders, and minimal interface elements. We aim to maintain sufficient contrast, readable type sizes, clear forms, consistent navigation, and usable interactive states.

Keyboard And Screen Reader Support

We aim for key interactions to be usable with a keyboard, including menu controls, product links, cart controls, saved items, forms, and footer links. We are continuing to improve focus states, drawer focus management, dynamic cart updates, icon labels, and screen reader announcements.

Known Areas For Improvement

  • Focus management inside menu and cart drawers.
  • Keyboard access for hover-based product quick-add overlays.
  • Final alternative text for product and media images.
  • Screen reader announcements for saved item and cart changes.
  • Clearer focus styles for custom buttons and links.
